The German Services Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) covers 500 service companies in order to extract an indication for the performance of Germany’s services sector. All else equal a reading above 50 indicates services sector expansion, whereas 50 or below 50 indicates no change or contraction respectively. The index is published by Markit Economics every month.

| The German Services PMI index for June 2017, came out at 54 or -2.5% lower than May’s 55.4. Historically the index reached an all-time low of 42 in February 2009 and an all-time high above 59 in November 2010. |
