Loan Growth

The Loan Growth Index tracks the year-on-year increase or decrease in loans provided to households. This metric is reported on a monthly basis by European Central Bank.

Euro Area Loan Growth

In May 2017 the indicator increased to 2.6% from 2.4% the previous month representing a change of 8.3%. The figure also surpassed the consensus by 4%. This figure was at its historical lows of -0.3% in Nov 2013 and at its highs of 2.6% in May 2017.
