In the United Kingdom, the Markit / Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Purchasing Managers Index measures the performance of the construction sector and is derived from a survey of 170 construction companies. A value above 50.0 indicates industry expansion and below indicates contraction.

UK Construction PMI values declined in June 2017 by 2.14% compared with the previous month. Results were reported at 54.8, falling from previous month’s values of 56.0 and missing expectations of 55.0.
