UK Construction Output

UK Construction Output measures the change in the amount charged by construction companies to customers for value of work on a yearly basis. This value takes into account a sample of 8,000 businesses, having more than 100 employees or with annual sales/revenue of more than £60 million. Construction output is a constituent of the GDP from the production approach and contributes approximately 6.4% of GDP.

UK Construction Output fell on a monthly basis for the month of May 2017 by 9% compared with the previous month. Results were reported at -1.2%, falling from previous month’s values of -1.1% and missing expectations of 0.7%. Construction Output in the United Kingdom peaked at an all-time high point of 24% in March of 2002 and hit rock-bottom at -19.20% in January of 2010.
