Japan Machinery Orders

The Japanese Machine Orders index measures the change of machinery orders in the private sector on a month by month basis. The index is published monthly by the Cabinet Office of Japan.

In May 2017, the Japanese Machinery Orders declined by 3.6% versus April and missed consensus estimates of 1.7%. Historically machinery orders hit an all-time high of 25.5% in October 1996 and an all-time low of -15.8% in October 1992.
