Foreign Bond Investment

The Japanese foreign bond investment index measures the net capital inflow or outflow from selling or buying foreign securities by residents. A positive number indicates capital inflow from the sale of foreign securities, whereas a negative number indicates capital outflows from buying foreign securities. The statistic does not consider the actions of the bank of Japan. The statistic is published on a weekly basis by the Japanese Ministry of Finance.

 Japanese foreign bond investment

During the week ended 6th of July 2017, inflows from Japanese foreign bond investments amounted to 839.5 JPY billion versus – 772 JPY billion in the previous week. The inflows reached a historical high of 2.54 JPY trillion in July 2016 and a historical low of -3.072 trillion in April 2015.
