Economy Watchers Survey

The Japanese Economy Watchers Survey covers a sample population of about 2,050 workers and tracks the sentiment of sensitive to economic trends businesses such as employment, household activity and corporate activity. A level above 50 indicates optimists whereas in the opposite scenario indicates pessimism. The statistic is published by the Japanese Cabinet Office every month.

In June 2017, the Japanese Economy Watchers Survey increased to 50 from 48.6 the previous month, representing an increase of 2.89%. The index reached a historical high of 57.9 in March 2014 and a historical low of 15.9 in December 2008.
