Wage Growth

The Italian wage growth index measures the hourly wage change of the current month, versus the same month one year ago and represents an indication of the overall trend in wages and salaries. The statistic is published by The National Institute of Statistics (Istat) every month.

In May 2017, Italian wages increased 0.50% versus the same month a year ago. Historically wages increased the most in July 1983 where wages grew by 15.8%, whereas in February 2017 wages increased the least by 0.30%.
