Services PMI

The Italian Services Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) covers 400 service companies in order to extract an indication for the performance of Italy’s services sector. All else equal a reading above 50 indicates an expansion of the services sector, whereas 50 or below 50 indicates no change or contraction respectively. The index is published by Markit Economics every month.

The Italian Services PMI index for June came out at 53.6 or -2.7% lower than May’s 55. The index hit a historical low and high of 42.3 and 56.2 during 2012 and April 2017 respectively.
