Initial Jobless Claims

Initial Jobless Claims measures the number of people that filed for unemployment benefits for the first time. An increasing figure signals for a deteriorating labor market. This metric is reported on a monthly basis by DARES.

French Initial Jobless Claims

In May 2017 the index increased by 22,300 where the previous month it was in negative territory at -36,300. This figure was at its historical lows of -63,800 in Jul 1999 and at its highs of 74,400 in Feb 2009.
