Services PMI

The German Services Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) covers 500 service companies in order to extract an indication for the performance of Germany’s services sector. All else equal a reading above 50 indicates services sector expansion, whereas 50 or below 50 indicates no change or contraction respectively. The index is published by Markit Economics every month.

The German Services PMI index for June 2017, came out at 54 or -2.5% lower than May’s 55.4. Historically the index reached an all-time low of 42 in February 2009 and an all-time high above 59 in November 2010.
