Inflation Rate

The German Inflation Rate or consumer price index (CPI) is tracking the price changes of a basket of goods and services that households purchase. The number is calculated monthly versus the same month a year ago with a specific year selected as a base. The index is published monthly by the Federal Statistics Office.

In June 2017, inflation rose by 1.6% year on year in line with the consensus estimates of 1.6%. Historically inflation rose the most by 11.54% in October 1951 and fell the most by -7.62% in June 1950.
