Factory Orders

The German Factory Orders index tracks the volume change of new orders received by manufacturers. The index is considered to be quite volatile and often misleading due to its nature. The index is published monthly by the Federal Statistics Office.

In May 2017, German Factory Orders increased 1% versus the previous month, missing the consensus estimate of 2%. Historically the index reached an all-time high of 27.1 in June 1975 and an all-time low of -15.7 in July 1975.
