Inflation Rate

The Inflation Rate is calculated as the average (weighted on the basis of country expenditures) of HICP (Harmonized Index of Consumer Price) that does take into account food, tobacco, and energy compared to the Core Inflation which doesn’t. It is the increase in the general level of prices for goods and services. This figure is calculated on a year-over-year basis. This metric is reported on a monthly basis by Eurostat.
