A measure of output of the industrial sector of the economy. It measures the amount of output from the manufacturing, mining, electric and gas industries month by month. A rise in industrial production reflects positive on growth statistics as they reflect on consumer spending and exports. Industrial Production in Canada reached an all-time high of 11.37% in May of 2000 and a record low of -15.24% in August of 2009.
