Core Inflation Rate

The Canadian Core Inflation Rate measures the change in the prices of a basket of goods and services after excluding some volatile items. High figures might indicate inflationary trends whereas low figures might indicate deflationary trends. Historically Core Inflation Rate in Canada, reached an all-time high of 5.40% in January 1987 and a record low of 0% in June 1984. The figure is published on a monthly basis by the Bank of Canada.
