The Canadian Core Consumer Price index measures the change in the prices of a basket of goods and services excluding food and energy. High figures might indicate inflationary trends whereas low figures might indicate deflationary trends. Historically the index reached an all-time high of 130 in October 2017 and a record low of 61.70 in January 1984. The figure is published by Statistics Canada on a monthly basis.
