Labor Force Participation Rate

The Labor Force Participation Rates is calculated as the labor force (employed and unemployed that seek to work) divided by the total working-age population. This rate is used to measure the active portion of a country’s labor force. This metric is reported on a monthly basis by Australian Bureau of Statistics.

In May 2017 the indicator increased to 64.90% from the previous month which was at 64.80% representing an increase of 0.2%. This figure was at its historical lows of 60.11% in Apr 1983 and at its highs of 65.79% in Nov 2010.
