The Interest Rate is defined as the rate at which financial intermediaries loan each other overnight. The rate decisions are set by the Reserve Bank of Australia. This metric is reported on a daily basis by Reserve Bank of Australia.

In Jul 2017 during the last meeting of the Reserve Bank of Australia the interest rate remained unchanged at the record low 1.5% which was in line with the consensus. This rate is at its historical lows of 1.5% since Aug 2016 and at its highs of 17.50% in Jan 1990.
