Business Confidence

The Business Confidence Indicator measures the state of the businesses, its coming prospects and the expectations of companies. It is based on a telephone survey filled by circa 600 companies. The indicator is calculated as the difference in percentage of those companies that put forward positive sentiment and those that put forward negative sentiment. This metric is reported on a monthly basis by National Australia Bank.

In June 2017 the indicator increased to 9 from the previous month which was at 7 and surpassed the consensus which was at 5. This figure was at its historical lows of -30 in Oct 2008 and at its highs of 20 in Apr 2002.
